How are cleaners vetted?

Before a cleaner can accept bookings we verify their identity and require a DBS check. Profiles then carry real customer reviews and a completed-jobs count, so their track record stays visible.

How much does it cost?

Cleaners set their own hourly rate, so you see the real price before you book — and it does not change afterwards. On top of that there is a single £1 booking fee. No subscription, no call-out charge, no hidden extras.

When am I charged?

You pay securely by card when you book, and the funds are only released to your cleaner once the clean has been completed. If something goes wrong, raise it in the app before the job is closed out.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Yes. Cancel or move a booking free of charge inside the notice window shown at the time you book. Outside it, a cancellation charge may apply so your cleaner isn't left out of pocket.

Are cleaners insured?

Cleaners on HOUSESTAFF are independent professionals and are required to hold appropriate public liability insurance for the work they take on. You can ask any cleaner about their cover directly in the app before booking.

Where do you operate?

We are rolling out area by area across the UK, building up enough local cleaners before we open each new zone. Download the app to see whether we're live in your postcode yet.

How do I report a problem with a cleaner or a customer?

Every profile, message thread and review has a report option, and you can block anyone at any time. You can also email us at [email protected] — we review every report and act within 24 hours.
